Range? What the hell is that?

Yeah I know, I've been reviewing dart blasters with less and less frequency lately but no I'm not dropping Nerf and whatnot any time soon. The new stuff just hasn't hit the shelf yet and I'm not seeing any vintages worth grabbing on eBay yet. So today I picked up one of Mattel's more oddball blasters. This is the Burstwave, one of few remaining air powered blasters on the market and unfortunately, it's a bit of that one word we like to call terrible.

Today was a sad day, I said goodbye to my faithful Acer Predator G3620 that has been the backbone of everything from this blog to just my personal usage. After a recent power supply failure and the massive influx of new games and peripherals that are a bit too much for the Predator's old GTX 660 and 3rd generation i7 to handle, I began to look elsewhere. I initially wanted to upgrade the Predator to a new 6th generation i7, max out the RAM at 16 GB, and chuck in a GTX 980 TI but because of the limitations of the custom motherboard designed specifically for the Predator, that was about the most I could do. However miracles do happen, and a deal came by that I couldn't pass up. That's how I wound up with this monster of a computer, an Alienware Area 51 R2.

Nintendo "New" 3DS XL Review

Weapons upgraded.

After I reviewed the Wii U I felt like Nintendo had built something that was far too different to be a worthwhile competitor to Microsoft and Sony. The console was too unorthodox and unsupported compared to the competition plus it's price point wasn't exactly great compared to the PS4 and Xbox One. So I decided to delve into an area of Nintendo that wasn't as subject to scorn as it's home console, their handhelds. This is the latest version of their 3DS console; the oh so creatively named "New" 3DS XL and I do have to say, it's pretty awesome.

MOM! Where's my energy drink!?

How many of you guys are willing to drop $150 on a gaming peripheral? Not a lot I take it and probably within good reason. I mean why the hell would you want to drop that kind of money on something when you can get an equally usable device for a lot less money? Actually I'll just shut up because that's exactly what I did; me being a hypocrite. This is the Xbox One Elite Controller, a premium controller for the most hardcore of the hardcore. Just don't spill your Mountain Dew on it.

Oculus Rift Inbound

The future has arrived... kind of.

This is a big deal, like no kidding. The Rift is probably one of 2016's most highly anticipated products and it's been in the works since 2012. In four years Oculus went from being a small crowdfunded startup company to being bought out by Facebook for $2 billion; that just shows how rapidly the company has been evolving it's VR technology and now you can finally get the long awaited Rift for yourself. Well, I'm lying actually. The Rift itself has been backordered until July and if you were like me who ended up pulling that rather heavy $599 dollar trigger(Which is actually more like $680 once you figure in tax and shipping, not to mention more if your PC is below spec) on the day it came out which was yesterday. In other words I won't be seeing this thing for another four months which sucks but that's life I guess. You can get the Rift for yourself if you happen to be one of the lucky souls who pre-ordered; those come first and they are already getting theirs or by paying a scalper but I strongly suggest that you please not feed those scumbags. In the meantime you can pick up a cheap Cardboard unit to get a taste of what VR is like. Anyways, this will be something to look forward to down the line and I'll be impatiently waiting for the doorbell to ring in July.

Nerf Doomlands 2169 Persuader Review (6/10)

More hammer action because why not?

I would have also had a review up for the Star Wars Han Solo pistol if I didn't end up breaking that one like complete idiot but we have this. Doomlands 2169 is gradually growing but with the abundance of new lineups that Nerf is putting out it isn't growing quite as fast as Elite or Vortex when they were new. Doomlands didn't have a sidearm for a while and Nerf really had to make something interesting since pistols tend to be pretty cookie cutter these days, so they did, and it's about as interesting as adding even more barrels onto an already existing platform. This bad boy is called the Persuader and while it's pretty cool, it's not very special.

100,000 Views: A Big Thanks

Wow, I never thought we would hit this milestone but here we are. I want to give you guys a big thanks for showing your interest in all the stuff I've posted over the years and today is also Easter as a matter of fact so a Happy Easter too. I know things have been a bit slow lately and I'm in the process of making some new posts but this blog is just a hobby of mine after all and sometimes real life does require attention. Like I said I have new reviews and such in the works and I got some more fun stuff coming in later this week so you guys can look forward to that.
