Buzz Bee Ultra Tek Destiny Review (8/10)

Bringing the rain like it's the year 2000.
There was a time many years ago where people didn't use springs or flywheels to hurl foam at each other. Well nobody really did in general actually, they were all too busy with their Super Soakers. But of the few who had the pleasure of enjoying dart blasters in the late 90's to early 2000's most of them were powered by air pressure. Blasters then had a massive variety of how they operated using air pressure; it could be used for highly powerful single shots, rapid semi-autos, and of course insane full auto fire. The days of wearing your arm out pumping these things and springing leaks eventually fell out of fashion in favor of plunger and electric power, however a few still carry the air power torch today. This is Buzz Bee's latest entry into that field: the Destiny, the fastest firing stock blaster in history and it's fun, lots of fun.

Oculus Rift Review

The future is here.
Ever since the beginning of the modern technological age we have dreamed of machines that could transport us to lands beyond our imagination; virtual reality. While the closest thing to VR at the time were giant simulators used purely for such things as pilot training, the concept began to pick up steam in the 80's and in the 90's, fully fledged VR gaming platforms began to emerge but their popularity was short lived. The technology was expensive, not many existing platforms supported it, and most of them just weren't very good. There was a lot of snake oil involved with marketing VR in the 90's and a lot of it contributed to the sheer amount of disappointment that revolved around heavily marketed VR systems. The Virtual Boy for example was heavily marketed and proved to be a colossal turd, selling only around 350 thousand units out of it's projected 3 million. Between bad hardware and ones that were solid but either too big for home use or too expensive for the average consumer, VR failed in the 90's and died with the coming of the new millennium. The idea was still there, but nobody really wanted to dive back into something that already failed. The 2010's however saw a resurgence in the interest of VR and with the great advances in technology over the past decade, VR began to make a whole lot of noise once again. After nearly five years of development, one of the companies that helped fuel a renewed interest in VR finally released it's product. This is the Oculus Rift, virtual reality for the new generation.

Nerf Elite Hyperfire Review (7/10)

Speed kills.
Flywheel blasters seem to be becoming the new norm among Jolts and bows. When Nerf isn't busy reshelling the Stryfe a million times, they actually come up with something interesting like the Khaos and of course this; the Hyperfire. Related to the Dart Tag revolver only in name, the new Hyperfire is marketed as the fastest motorized dart blaster on the shelves. So how well does it live up to that claim? Sort of.

Nerf Doomlands 2169 Double Dealer Review (3/10)

Prepare for trouble and make it double.
Alright, back to business and we'll start off with a new Nerf blaster. We've had our fill of pump action blasters; they're everywhere yet they never seem to get stale. Probably because pump actions are so practical and usable that it's not too much of a complaint that the market gets saturated with them every now and then. Nerf decided to put a new twist on the concept; two barrels, two mags, Double Dealer. So that should mean double the fun right? No, not one bit.

Nerf Rival Khaos MXVI-4000 Review (10/10)

You're either perfect, or you're not me.
After the revolting experience I had with the Brainsaw I was on the hunt for some of the more desirable of the Fall 2016 Nerf lineup. I happened to find the Double Dealer and the Mastodon at Toys R Us but I figured I would check Target out and sure enough I struck gold. One of the most requested ideas for a Rival blaster was an automatic rifle, especially with the popularity of full auto Zeus mods out there. So Nerf decided to deliver and this is it, the Khaos MXVI-4000 and it's ready to kick some serious ass.

Nerf Zombiestrike Brainsaw Review (3/10)

A very dull blade.
This is the first major new Nerf blaster I've picked up in a while. I would have picked up the Stratobow too but I, and I'd imagine most of you are absolutely sick of bows. So we got a something a whole lot more interesting than that, being that it was the only other new product I could find. This is the Zombiestrike Brainsaw, what could have been one of the coolest blasters on the market is in reality a big fat stinking turd. Let's see why.

Oculus Rift: First Impressions

This is absolutely insane.
So my Rift actually arrived about a month before it's earliest projected arrival, which I can assume was due to all the people who canceled their orders due to massive delays. This isn't a full review of the Rift; I will have one in the coming days since there is just so much to talk about with this device but after just a few hours of messing with it, my mind is blown. I only have one actual game for it at the moment which, thanks to the assuring screams of Markiplier is Dreadhalls. I barely played any of this game and it was already giving me feelings unlike any horror game, let alone any game I've ever played. Looking through the Rift is almost akin to looking through goggles but the field of vision is good enough that it immerses you completely into the game. A good pair of headphones helps too and the Rift's built in set works quite well. The head tracking is smooth and it even gives the ability to look around corners which is insane. I'm sitting in the comfort of my chair and I know this for a fact but Dreadhalls gave me a genuine feeling of claustrophobia and no joke intended; dread that I couldn't even make it through the first hallway. Call me a wuss if you must but if I was playing this on a monitor this wouldn't have happened, it's not even close to being the same. I'll man up and try again tomorrow but I picked up VorpX and I hope to try other games on the Rift too, as well Virtual Desktop for actual computing. So far the Rift has my vote, let's see if it stays that way.
