How to build one of the most powerful modified blasters in the world. |
The parts required for this mod aren't that many, All you need is a piece of standard 1" PVC pipe, 1/2" CPVC, a 1" x 3/4" threaded male reducer, and a 1" x 3/4" female adapter. Tools would preferably be something to cut your PVC, a Dremel, and adhesive of your choice. The Roto Rocket itself is discontinued, although you can find new ones on Amazon still.
You want to start off with the Roto Rocket itself as the blaster has a ball bearing trigger safety that needs to be removed, this prevents it from being fired flat. The problem is, the Roto Rockets screws are triangle head security screws so you either have to have a triangle head driver handy, or go my route and drill the bastards out. One the gun is open, it won't be hard to find the ball bearing and remove it. Then seal it back up, if you drilled the screws out, use super glue.

Take your PVC pipe and cut it down to the exact same length of the Roto Rocket's barrel, right down to the little lip where it expands into the big air tank. Then glue on your reducer to the end like so.
This piece should be a perfect fit over the stock barrel. Just super glue it in place. I doubled up and added hot glue for extra reinforcement.
Cut a piece of CPVC to fit between the barrel and the pump and glue it in. This will give the blaster more stability when pumping it up.
As for the barrel assembly, take your adapter and glue in a barrel of your choice into the end, leaving enough thread so it can screw onto the reducer. Make sure it's at least a foot long and the dart fit is not too tight. PETG or brass would be ideal materials for this barrel but loose fitting CPVC will work.
Let you glue set and there you have it! It doesn't look like much but the secret to this thing's immense power is that it releases it's immense tank's pressure extremely fast. Paired with a long barrel, the Roto Rocket can easily hit 200 feet flat and punch through objects, although this is also dependent on the darts you use. I would recommend using weighted Elite darts, also tape them so they don't blow apart when the blaster is fired. A better option is Stefans, you shouldn't need to tape them since most are solid bodied although this thing can pretty much fire anything you can fit in it. Try not to over-pump the blaster either(20 pumps at max.) as it can run the risk of blowing up like venomm213's did. And don't be stupid and shoot someone with it, or your neighbors window, or his dog through his window. Find an open area, set up some targets and have fun.
Alternate Barrel Setup: If you got a PAS that you butchered to make shoot darts, use it's ball launcher to make the Roto Rocket a bit less dangerous, and more war friendly too. That is all.
