Nerf Zombiestrike Sidestrike Review (5)

Walk three paces, then draw!
Saw this at Target today so I decided to pick one up to see if it was any good. Lets just say I think I may have found a great alternative to the Firestrike. Take a look at the Sidestrike after the jump.

Size compared to a Lock n' Load.
The Sidestrike is the Zombiestrike lineup's first single shot pistol and was probably intended as a replacement for the old Scout, which was pretty much the only slide action pistol that wasn't a revolver in the N-Strike series. The pistol is quite comfortable and it's very compact. The holster may sound a bit gimmicky but it actually holds the pistol quite nicely, not that I would recommend using it over something more conventional though.
Holster holds ammo and it can be reversed if you are a lefty.
The Sidestrike's performance is very good, it hits 65+ feet easily and it makes it a very strong secondary. A huge improvement over the Scout and a slight improvement over the Firestrike. It has enough reserve capacity to keep you stocked fairly well. So far no complaints at all.
Internals are simple, very similar to a Firestrike.
The internals of the Sidestrike are almost identical if not the same as the Firestrike. Probably the best explanation for the slight range boost is that this blaster probably has a beefier spring. The Firestrike however will hold up better to heavier load springs due to it not being slide operated since the priming bar can break under heavy load on slide pistols.

So what do I thin about the Sidestrike? It's a great pistol hands down and I strongly recommend you pick one up. This one should accept most mods the Firestrike can yet the FS still has a little bit more potential but that's beyond the point. I give the Sidestrike a 5 because it's an all around very good pistol and it could be your next favorite sidearm.

The Verdict
Class- Slide Action Pistol
Range- Excellent, 65+ feet.
Size- About the size of a Firestrike.
Reliability- No issues.
Ammo- 3 Elite Darts, 7 if you count the ones in the holster.
Modding- Most Firestrike mods should work with this.
